Q: What are your rates? What form of payment do you accept?

A: We charge $150 for a one hour sitting at your location. The sitting fee includes a disc with digital images that you will receive approximately 10-14 business days after your sitting. This fee does not include actual prints as you are free to order from us or use your favorite photo finishing service. Addional time is billed at $50 per hour increments.

We accept secure credit card payments through PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use this secure service.

Q: Do you charge a deposit/cancellation fee?

A: We charge a $50 deposit fee that is non refundable in the following cases:

1. You stand us up without any prior notification. That means that we set a confirmed date and time, you pay the deposit and then decide to not show up without notifying us at all.

2. You cancel your confirmed session with 48 hours notice or less.

*If you cancel with more than a 48 hour notice, we will keep $25 from your deposit fee and refund you $25. This is why it is very important that you are sure that you will be available on the date that you set for your shoot. There is no fee for rescheduling with a set date. If Purple PlumTree Photography needs to cancel your confirmed sitting then we will refund you the entire deposit or reschedule you, whichever you choose.

Q: Do I have to use your studio to order prints? Do I need a photo release from you to order prints from someone else?
A: It's up to you! Feel free to order your prints through us or through your favorite photo finishing service. You do not need a photo release from our studio to make prints or other products for personal use. We do require that you obtain a written release from Purple PlumTree Photography if you plan on using our photos in a publication, exhibition, business website or any other type of commercial venue.
Q: How would you describe your photographic style?
A: Our photographic style can be best describes as "photojournalistic" or "lifestyle photography". Basically we capture a moment in your life such as laughter, a hug, tears. We don't make you "pose" for the camera as we feel that doesn't give insight into who you are. We prefer to be unobtrusive and gently capture your essence or that of your workplace using available, ambient light. Q: What kind of equipment do you use? Why don't you use digital slr's?
A: We use a nikon film slr with nikon lenses. We will sometimes use an attached camera flash depending on the lighting. We will not show up to your location with backdrops and giant flashes since we prefer to photograph you in your normal environment with natural, ambient light. We try to be very low key so as not to interrupt your life's moments.
At the moment we do not use a digital slr because, let's face it, our film cameras have always performed exceptionally well. Not to worry, we always transfer our photos at high resolution to cd so that you can upload them to your computer.
Q: What or Who do you photograph?
A: We photograph just about anyone or anything. We can photograph your infant, your grandma, your dog, your office cubicle. We have experience in working with special needs children and differently abled adults and will do our best to make their photo sessions as relaxed and comfortable as possible.
We don't photograph explicit nudity, except for babies' bottoms because they're irresistible and pregnant mommies because they're beautiful. If you want a very risque photo...well maybe you should look somewhere else for that.
Q: Will photos from my session be used on your website?
A: Possibly, but we will always ask for your written permission before we use any of your photos and if permission is granted you will only be identified by your first name.
